Dandelion is a medicinal herb widespread throughout the world. It is indicated to cure liver diseases and has diuretic properties as well.
A few days ago I picked a fair amount of dandelion herb. Once at home, I started cleaning it and put the buds whose stem was too long and hard to eat into a flower vase and poured some water. While selecting the buds I was on the brink of throwing away one of them whose stem was broken. Its shape was not attractive but finally I decided to put also it into the flower vase along with the others.
The next morning almost all buds opened and to my surprise the most beautiful flower was the broken dandelion, as you can see in the picture.
Sometimes people are like broken dandelions. We tend to assess them by their outward appearance, but we don’t know what kind of flower they have in their heart.

If you go to Sicily, don’t miss visiting Lake Pergusa near my hometown Enna. It is not an ordinary stretch of water but a place full of energy. Sometimes its waters become red like blood.
According to mythology this is the place where Pluto the God of the underworld abducted Kore while she was plucking flowers along with other nymphs. Kore was Demeter’s daughter, the goddess of agriculture.
On the slopes of the hill there is a forest of pine trees, eucalyptuses and cypresses. Walking there, you can breathe pytoncide which has a healing power.
Pergusa is the only natural lake in Sicily and a few years ago it seemed to be dry completely. Nowadays there is a considerable amount of brackish water. There is no fish except tadpoles from which frogs derives. They are so numerous that they spread across the motor-racing track that rings the lake.
Nowadays, there are not many car races anymore and the place has returned to the primeval silence. Was it Demeter’s will?
